How to Use Generate Random Password

1
Select Length
Choose your desired password length using the slider (16+ characters recommended for maximum security).
2
Configure Character Sets
Enable or disable uppercase, lowercase, numbers, or symbols, and optionally exclude lookalikes (like 0 and O).
3
Copy Generated Password
Click Copy to safely transfer your strong password to your clipboard or password manager.

Key Features

Hardware Entropy
Generates true randomness directly from crypto.getRandomValues without deterministic pseudo-random seeds.
Customizable Rules
Toggle uppercase, lowercase, numbers, special characters, and easily confused lookalikes.
Entropy Meter
Real-time calculation of password entropy bits and strength classification.
100% Private
All passwords are generated locally in your browser memory and never transmitted or stored.

Common Use Cases

  • Creating uncrackable master passwords for 1Password, Bitwarden, or KeePass.
  • Generating secure API keys, tokens, database passwords, and cryptographic secrets.
  • Creating random numeric PINs and verification codes.
  • Hardening account security across email, banking, and hosting providers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The tool runs locally in your web browser using Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues). The generated passwords are never transmitted across the network or saved in local storage.

Length and character diversity. Passwords with at least 16 mixed characters offer over 90 bits of entropy, making brute-force cracking mathematically infeasible even with supercomputers.

It removes characters that look visually identical in many fonts, such as zero ('0') and capital 'O', or lowercase 'l', digit '1', and uppercase 'I'.
